1990 no start/diognostic #2port illuminated 200 1990

I have a 1990 240 no-start,
port#6 gives me a 144
Port #2 lights up the instant that I put the probe in and stays lit.
I changed the fuel relay with a known good spare, still no start.
I do get a small running as if it is only getting that initial squirt of fuel and then no fuel.I think that I can chase this down if the weather outside permits,by checking all fuses,hot-wiring the main pump etc.
What has me posting is the #2 diagnostic port, any one know of a probable cause for that constant illumination that hopefully may also be the cause of my no start?
Thanks all,Happy holidays

    From the FAQ's

1-4-4* No load signal from fuel injection system Bad fuel injection relay; faulty wiring from LH to EZK; bad LH module Engine lacks power; stalls; doesn't start or is jerky.

Try your spare fuel pump relay and or ECU. Check the 25 amp fuse for corrosion or blown.

Do you have a pink label 561?

      Tried both to no avail.
Yes I have the pink label 561,I understand that they are prone to fail. Are the white labels ok,or is the general consensus to switch to a 951 or something similar?

Check the 25 amp fuse for corrosion at the fuse holder and the connector to the + battery terminal.

Do you hear the fuel pumps? Place a jumper on the left side of fuses 4 & 6 you should hear the main and in-tank pumps running.

        Check for spark.

The white label 561 should not fail.

Do you have spark? If not it could be the crank sensor.

Do you have fuel? You swapped out the relay and ECU and still no start.

Jumper the left side of fuses 4 and 6, if it starts remove the jumper and test the 561 ECU for not grounding the fuel relay. You can provide an external ground (jumper) to the blue/green wire of the fuel pump relay connector. If it starts with this ground attached the ECU is not providing the ground to the relay and you have a bad ECU.

For test purposes I installed a 951 today and the volvo came alive. Now to find a white label 561 at a decent price.
              Thanks

Good news on your success. You can leave the 951 in there and get a spare 951. I have never had a bad 561 or 951. email me at pageda(at)gte(dot)net

I did try the spare FPR
I will check on which ECU and the 25 amp fuse.
Unfortunately I'm stuck at work and the car is stuck at home with Ice raining on it.
      Thanks for the tips
