My 145 has a button or lever of some kind on both sides, mounted on the B pillar, just below where the front seat belt hangers are. I've never seen these before, what are they and how do they operate?

    They are child locks. I use to sell a bunch of them when we were finding 140 and 164's like you find 240's now days.

      I don't get how that works as a child lock.
      Can you explain how that works?
      I always thought that area was recessed for the driver's / passenger's elbow.

    Original accessorie - as you say, child safety locks. Allows you to take the lock buttons on the rear doors out of the equation.

    Are you talking about the hook that you hang your unused seat belt on? They rarely exist due to them being made of plastic.

    You know where the switch lives to turn off/on the child locks on the doors right?

      Not the seat belt hook. All child safety lock mechanisms that I've seen have been on the rear doors themselves. The mechanism that I'm talking about is screwed to the half circle area that I usually see facing forward on the B pillar below the seat belt anchor. Maybe I should take a picture.
