Recent Purchase ... 1800 1962

Hello!

Just brought home a 1962 P1800 ... chassis number 3276.
The car runs and have been enjoying it driving around the block! Why didn't I get one of these sooner?!? Has original B18 with M40 and Overdrive.

Going to do some routine maintenance as the care has been sitting for three years.

Have a few of the basic questions for you all ... I've been trying to gleen information from various posts on the search and this is what I've come up with.

Please let me know if I'm missing something as I'm new to these cars.

Changed oil: 10W30 Castrol GTX - Mann Filter
New Gas: 91 Octane

Need new tires: Will 195/65/15 fit fine on stock-like wheels? 165/15 tires sill on now.

M40: Going to change tranny oil, SAE30 1qt or so.

Clutch: New clutch, but would like to top off the master. What Fluid? (Does it really matter?) Looks like I'm missing a spring on the slave cylinder. What's he best place to get one?

Brakes: New master cylinder. Want to top off. Best fluid? (Does it really matter?)

Any other suggestions for initial run through?

Thanks a bunch and very happy to be apart of the group.

    Hello,

You should be able to find 185/65/15 tires and they will not bulge as much as the 195s.

Use 30w (non-detergent, if you can find it) oil in the transmission if it has an overdrive, 90w gear oil if does not have an overdrive.

I only use Castrol brake fluid in both the clutch and brake systems in all of my customers vehicles and it does matter as DOT 3 WILL damage Girling natural rubber seals.
