Incredibly enough, if you feel you might be about to shear a stud off, you might try tightening the nut. Sometimes this is just enough to break the bond in there, and then you can back things out. Good luck on this venture. Your PB Blaster bath or Kroil is a good thing to get things shaking loose.I would use a good quality 6 point socket for this job.
