A./C CCU removal help needed - FAST 700 1991

I need help as fast as possible, as the wife is getting hot ..i.e, no air.

I am trying to pull the MCCU from a 91 740 for the wife's 93 940. I got it out ...almost.
The FAQ's say ...
Remove the climate control vacuum lines block. This is a single piece of flexible plastic, to which all vacuum hoses are molded. The hoses likely will be of different colors. To remove this connector from the back of the CCU, gently pry it off.

Well, for the life of me, I can't see how this flex block pries off. The colored hoses come in attached to a piece that is a thin part at the back with a metal plate between it and the rest of the that part.

Do I put my blade in where that metal plate is and separate it there? I started that, but it looks as if there are a bunch of springs in there, plus there is a screw that looks to hold that to the main part.

The other option is to pry that whole block away, but it looks to be a direct connection with the center turn dial on the outside.

Help me here if you can, fast !!

    A./C CCU removal help needed - FAST 700 1991

See the message below. When you get this figured out, let us know so we can improve the FAQ. I recall doing this years ago and it was at the time simple, so it must have an easy answer.

      Maybe this would help ... 700 1991

      Steve,
When I initially read this ...
Remove the climate control vacuum lines block. This is a single piece of flexible plastic, to which all vacuum hoses are molded. The hoses likely will be of different colors. To remove this connector from the back of the CCU, gently pry it off.
...it made me think of a piece of rectangular plastic, that the hoses were attached to, that needed to be pried off ..of what ...that is what I was looking for and could not find.
Then I flipped the CCU over to where I got a better look at the colored hoses. I was then able to see the clear strip of plastic holding the hoses together. Initially I had thought if I tried to pry the hoses off they would be loose, and I had sure better label them, so as to get them back in the same order.

Maybe if it said something like...
Remove the climate control vacuum lines at the back of the CCU. There is a single clear piece of flexible plastic across the hoses, to which all vacuum hoses are attached to keep them in order. The hoses likely will be of different colors. To remove this group of hoses from the back of the CCU, gently pry bit by bit at each hose connection until loose.

      Thanks,
      Andy Smith

I just removed mine from a 89 780 and i have done this on a few 740's too, to remove the Air Line's from the back of the unit is actually simple, there are two normally black round items holding 2 sides of the round hose line piece into place one on each side, take some needle nose and pull them off this will allow you to easily lift the whole airline connection from the back of the or MCC whichever you have

      Thanks, Guys.
I actually figured it out earlier, and thought I had posted back. I explained in the post to Steve why I got confused.

Actually my wife says I get confused a lot. Ha! :)
