No Start 83 B23 200 1983

Looking for some quick pointers...

I just finished doing a HG on my 83 as well as wiring harness repair (Installing new wires from the main firewall connector). Everything is back together but the car is not starting. Here are the facts:

This car is running LH2.0 for reference

- Turns over fine
- Will run with ether sprayed into the intake tube, so the issue is not timing
- Primped pump by jumping it and verified pressure built up - upon loosening main fuel line at the rail I got fuel spraying out, so it did make it up there.
- Main EFI fuse in engine bay is intact and there are no fuses out in the main panel

At this point I'm thinking the injectors aren't firing, but I'm not super familiar with LH 2.0. I have the Bentley book and will dive into testing later this week but I wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone might have an "aha" moment from previous experience.

Thanks!
-Phil

Hi Phil,

Yup, sound to me same as it sounds to you. Spark, fuel delivery, compression: all up to snuff. Easy first thing to try is crank without AMM connected, and while you're at it, check inside its connector for corrosion. After that, I doubt visual inspection is going to help, and you will need to break out your test light, starting at the system relay and fuel pump relay. Do you have a Bentley, or other troubleshooting reference?

Thanks for the reply Art. I'll give it a shot cranking without the AMM. I've got the Bentley and will dive into electrical troubleshooting later this week.

Got it figured out - the issue was that there WAS a ground missing :)

The one that runs under the front of the engine and up to the intake manifold. My guess is it goes to that vacuum computer behind the PS headlight.

That's great! Nothing takes the place of persistence.
