Engine mount replacement - how much lift needed 700 1990

I'm planning on replacing the engine mounts on my 90 turbo wagon. I built an engine lift rig and I have enough thread to lift it 3 inches. Is that plenty of lift or should I look for another eyebolt?

I did this many years ago but no longer have the original rig. I recall that I was really close to not having enough lift to do the job.

IS this job best done with the car on ramps and lifting from above?

i found the simple way was to unbolt the bolt in the center on top them unbolt the entire assembly from the frame and all you need is about 1 inch of clearnce and it will slide right out.
