How do you post pics for a new post?

I hope someone answers this question with more details and options because this is the most frustrating board for posting links and pictures I've ever come across. Unless you're a web developer, you're pretty much limited to posting links that others have to copy and paste. I wish there were a tutorial here how to do this stuff, but there isn't. You can get some hints by searching the board for terms like "html" and maybe glean something from the postings, but it's still a crap shoot.

What I have discovered, though, is that if you have your pictures hosted somewhere like Imagecave.com, the site will give you the various coding for posting in forums, this one requiring HTML. The code I pasted for the image below has "img src=" at the beginning, then the image URL in "" marks and the whole thing is contained in <> angle brackets.



Or you can upload your image to the board here and use the "IMAGE URL" at the bottom left of your editing screen.

Be nice, don't post monster images wider than our screens. Most of us don't have fancy CAD monitors.

I have to agree that the best way is to have an account on an image hosting site like Photobucket. It is free and easy. You simply copy the HTML code for the image you want to display and then paste it in your post. You can set your account options to display the code.

The problem with images uploaded to the brickboard is that many times they simply disappear.

If you leave the images (undisturbed) in the Photobucket album the HTML code will be good for viewing old posts- hopefully years from now.

Randy, I'm not sure if they disappear, but I just have trouble locating ones I've uploaded here unless I copy the url right away when I upload. How are you supposed to find them later?

In the drop down menu on the upper right select "Picture Gallery"

Once there pick the catagory the image you want is stored. CARS PERSONAL TECHNICAL etc

Then click on "Show My Exhibits"
