slightly pitted glass E-codes 900 1995

I'm getting ready to apply Stongard tomorrow to my E-codes. The glass lenses are a little pitted, but really not very badly. However, I wanted to try to smooth it a tad before putting the stuff on, since it's pretty permanent.

Does anyone have any personal experience with anything that worked for them ? I'm thinking about trying some toothpaste, and the big "power toothbrush"-looking thing we use to clean floor tile grouting...........

Griot's Garage makes a product called, of all things, Glass Polish that I've had good luck with. A random orbit sander and one of their orange pads will help as much as anything I've tried to polish out pits and scratches.
