wiring harness repair 200

Hi Dan,

I've noticed on the ones that I have rewired, that the wiring behind the connector body to the firewall did not show the same heat degradation as the wiring on the engine side. My approach was to use the OEM type of connector that Volvo now uses (from sherco-auto.com), and completely rewire from the firewall down. I use a stranded thhn(plastic overcoat)wire that will hold up in the heat and oil environment and both crimp and solder all of my connections, reusing the sensor connectors when practical. I also pull any grounds that were originally broken through the connectors into a separate run and make multiple chassis ground points to tie them together.

Regards,
