1992 stalls 200

Hello
Hello
I've just bought my third and newest Volvo - 1992 240. Great shape! Old and grey like me. 195,000k. It likes to stall when I depress the clutch and brake to stop after I drive it hard right away or when I come off the highway. Any ideas? Thanks!
ps I apologis for posting this under "aftermarket"

I would start with a good throttle body, Idle air control valve cleaning and check all the associated vacuum lines for a tight fit and not plugged.

Then new bosch cap, rotor, plugs and plug wires if old.

My '91 did this. Turns out it needed a new AMM. The check-engine light would come on when it died but wouldn't stay on. I could keep it running by goosing the throttle a little. Otherwise it ran fine.

1992 stalls at the strip club - or - I Expect Entertaining Enjoyable Elaborations, and Exquisite Expositions of Excellence! 200

    Buddy,

You're cheating me! I expect to hear about your ex-wife, your girlfriend, and your mistress!

Is the car blue, does it have nice seats, and what's under the floor mats?

Now, It sounds like the car has an air leak in the metered engine inlet path. It's hard to say though. I also had the thought that the brake booster has failed and is leaking engine vacuum.

When the car stalls, what do you do? Do you have to get out and drink at the strip club? Can you start it right away? Where is the liquor hid out? Is it leaking into the fuel computer?

    Respectfully,
    Goatman
