700/900 Service Socket (Edited) 700

"The "Service Socket for cranking-the starter motor" that is missing in my car..."

Bill,
You don't give the year of your 700, but I'll bet the Service Socket is located in the same place as on my '93 940 — on the left side...



EDIT: You can also put a test light on the Socket to test the Ignition Switch. There should be +12V at the socket when the Switch is turned to position III.
