Dash top speaker grille 200

Does anyone have a good dash top speaker grille laying around? I dumb thumbed mine last night. The color does not matter, but the 4 sets of plastic clips on the bottom do. This is for a 1985, 245.

Yo man... Ive acutally got one that depending on the direness of your situation we could trade for some other small part or something? Im driving an 83' 245 DL wagon, and already have the center grill removed from some interior work done had... If this sounds compatable let me know... Vise versa if youve got any small spare parts shout out, maybe we can avoid the woes of a falling economy all together. Thanks

I have lots of small parts, and accessories. It depends on what you want or need.

Well, the britleness of the center dash panel on my 83 242 wagon has numerous cracks including on the screw holds... Maybe trade and bitta cash or something?

hmmm, do you have any mechanical spare parts too?

I can send that screen as soon as you need it too.

Hi there,

Joe is talking about his way in, to get it out. What would you suggest, glovebox? Radio? This should be something for a pick'n'pull visitor, not a sacrifice from a running (or soon to be running) car.

I thought I had one pulled from a changed-out dash. I looked. I'll look again.

Ummm,

I think that we are talking about 2 different things. This speaker grille, goes between the defrost outlets on top of the dash. There are no screws, this grille just clips into 4 square holes in the dash pad. Sorry for the confusion.

No confusion Sir. I was speaking of the part im seeking intrest in the trade. You see i have some speaker mesh from and old G. amp i was working on I could somehow rig as a sub. to get you the grill you seek. In return, you might send the center consol cover to retain temp., stereo, and light controls... thats all. We were just unclear with our points. Art has a point though...heh, im offering part outs and im only desperate to get myne running... Its more or less comming outa the fact that I respect the engine help that Ive gotten up to this point so much... that interior/vanity issues have no real pertinacy for me, and one way to return respect would be to try and help some of you other brick owners out. Im just looking to get the engine up to an ideal running condition right now.

Oh well... that being said, what are your thoughts stick?

Oh yea....my glovebox lock mech. is shot...it always hangs open.. Yet another option, but Im feeling like Art takes the cake here right now...

No, Joe, I misunderstood too. I interpreted your screw hole remarks to mean your difficulty in getting at the speaker grill to remove it without damaging the ears that keep it snug in the dash. I was thinking william could guide you through the radio opening or the glovebox opening as a better approach, but I wouldn't know.

I'd just as soon back out of this thread, except that I had already given william a half hour of my time looking for the grill I thought I had. Ummm...

The problem as I see it now, is no one up North is spending their days at the bone yard in this bitter cold winter.

Art,

Your foot is not in your mouth. You are one of the more helpful people on the BB. I don't have the center console cover that he is looking for. Most of the parts that I have are either of the hard variety, or electrical.

Those intreset me too though... Just to inquire what you would see as a balanced trade for such items you have on hand... Engine wireing harness :)? Perhaps that would require some denero too. Heh. Anyhow, word up. Thanks...

Joe
