Hello All,

I saw a 1972 164E for sale. How many passengers is that car designed to carry? Specifically, how many sets of seat belts does it have for the passengers? Thanks to all who reply.

    Our 72 144 (basically the same car) had 3-point belt/harnesses for four passengers and a lap belt only for the center rear passenger (which was actually better for holding in the baby seat).

    My '69 came with 4 belts but a 5th one can easily be mounted center back.
    Remember this was BEFORE seatbelt laws!!
