Testing wiper motor by hooking it up to battery 200

Hi-

My wipers on my 1990 245 stopped working recently. The fuse looks good, the switch on the wheel stem works for the fluid squirter but not the wipers (I assume that means the switch is ok?), and I have cleaned the motor's ground strap connections and also installed another ground wire just in case.

I would like to see if the motor itself is the problem. I saw in a previous post that someone hooked their wiper motor directly to the battery to check it. How would I do this? Attach wires to the battery leads and randomly poke at the pin connector terminals until it starts working?

Thanks for your help. I have done a few more complicated (for me) repairs like the timing belt and water pump, but this is my first foray into the electrical side of things. It's a little daunting, but I need those wipers (believe it or not it's actually raining here in southern CA!)

Again, thanks for any help you can provide.
