Axle-exhaust bump...Time to R&R exhaust... Starla, Volvo, ??? 200

Time to change out the exhaust system after the cat. 3 year old system done in by son backing car into a low log stuck in the ground. Bent pipes and muffler ends. Not pretty.

Preexisting issue was the under axle pipe resting against the axle. I would like to make that go away with this new install. Rear suspension: newer stock springs, Bilstein HD shocks and IPD Sway bar

Questions:
1. Any ideas on how best to address the axle-pipe clunking
2. Best longevity and fit of exhaust is who: Starle, Volvo dealer, etc?

And son will of course be under the car getting a hands on lesson on exhaust R&R.

Thanks!

When I lived in the snow belt (New England), I had to replace the exhaust system on my 240s about every 4 years. I tried different brands, and none seemed noticeably better than the others. I bought from the dealership once, and the Volvo label was glued on over the Starla label! (Not to say that ALL OEM exhausts are Starlas; I'm sure Volvo shops around for suppliers.)

The main reason to buy an exhaust kit from Volvo, in my opinion, is that even though you spend a little more than an aftermarket kit (Starla ~ $120; Tasca Volvo ~ $130) the Volvo kit comes with a lifetime replacement warranty. Muffler rusts out? Go down to the dealer and, beause they no longer sell the pieces individually, they replace the whole kit!

    Tasca Volvo. OEM over-axle exhaust.

I put the over the axle from Tasca in my sisters 240. Might be a NOS but quality and fit were excellant. Tasca list it for a little cheaper on EBAY.

Over the axle makes several repairs easier that would normally require removal of the rear exhaust.

BTW: I need to pick one of those up for spare parts.
