V70 damp start S90-V90

Hope im in the right group here cos i dont seem to find anything closer unlike my 940s group but here goes. Noticed the car kept cutting out when it rained the night before and changed the H/T leads and it seemed to cure it. but a few days later and it had the same problems and kept cutting out when put in gear and would take ages to fire it up again. now having also bought a new distributor cap and rotor arm ready to go on, im wondering if theres something else to check out.

V70 auto 2ltr 1999.

cheers n beers.

I've had friends with exactly the same problem: runs rough after the car was parked through a heavy rain. Runs fine after a while. Problem doesn't sho up again, until it's parked through another heavy rain.

If this is your symptom, it may be time to replace your spark plug wires. Once the wires get worn out, they tend to collect moisture. The heat of the engine will dry them out, so that's why the car might not show this problem when you drive it in the rain. But when you park it in the wet, moisture collects, and the car runs like shit (until the wires dry out again).

    Thanks,
    Eric
