I wanted to check about a auto trans shift switch or relay. the safety interlock relay does not work ,after you start the engine and before you can shift into drive or rev. you have to use the plastic insert to reset the relay on the shifter to let you shift gears. i think the relay on the shifter is only on 91 or 92 models. any help will be great thanks,rich

    I think the lock out you refer to is on all cars after a certain date. It is a mechanical interlink with the ignition and brake pedal. If it needs to be overridden that's because something is misaligned or possibly broken. Inspect with shift cover off, and look at trans. mounts.
