    Hi,
I have the aftermarket Cat. and it is about half the length of the original....It has been fitted now for about three years and i like it as it has added a nice exhaust note the original being just hot air....the performance seems more than up to scratch and the economy is excellent and with also no detrimental effects to the exhaust valves.

    Regards Keith (England)

I should like to think not, however, if it the after market cat is too small (as most of them are) and does not flow enough, yes it could cause excessive back pressure and excessive heat which could damage an exhaust valve.

    Hope that helps!

    Andrew
