Yikes! $58 for cooling system pressure tester adapter! 700 1991

I already have a Stant cooling system pressure tester, but need the adapter to fit the Volvo, screw-on style, coolant tank. Called the local NAPA store and they quoted me $58 for it.

Do any of you know where I can get the Stant 12018 (Volvo) adapter for less than $58? Preferably a lot less?

Photobucket

It was pointed out recently that the cap off of the brake reservoir screws right onto the coolant reservoir. Maybe you can rig something up or simply use it like pictured and pump up the pressure with a bicycle pump?

Brilliant idea! Thanks. It should not be too hard to do this AND make it so that the cap connects to the Stant tester, thus giving me the full use of the nifty little gauge on the Stant. Thanks.

And, now that I have thought about it, there is a new green cap on its way here, so I could just drill out and gut the old pressure cap and use it!
