I have a 85 240 ti with the older power steering pump with the reservoir on top that leaks out the front seal. Has anyone rebuilt one of these. Can you just replace the seal or is there more to it then just replacing the seal? Where can I get the seal and part #? Thanks for any help.Charlie

Replacing just the seal will just last for a while, assume that the bearings in the pump are shot. I rebuilt a pump on a 92 (a very different beast than what you are dealing with), but I suspect a full rebuild will be the way to go. Sorry, I don't have a good source for a kit. Once the pulley is off, it is a relatively easy job on the bench.

Thanks Jorrell,I just finished replacing ball joints and strut mounts today.I think I will rebuild the power stearing pump next.Thanks Charlie
