Were there ever orange Volvos? 200

My college-age niece has decided that a 240 Volvo wagon would work as her next car. She loves anything orange. Any chance we could find an orange one that's not too old?

Tanks in advance!

This is what an orange 740 looks like: http://link.marktplaats.nl/176387458

73-74 140s, 164 and 1800ES were available in bright "international" or "safety" orange. I think there was a somewhat more muted orange for the first few years of the 240, but, like scorron said, I don't think they lasted beyond the 70s. His idea of buying one cheap, with peeling clearcoat, and having it repainted orange is probably the way to go. Try to find one with a black interior, as tan or blue would not go well with an orange car. Silver cars often had black interiors, and were prone to paint problems. Some maroon cars have black interiors, but the paint usually holds up well on these.

Look for an 88 or newer, to avoid wiring harness problems. 90 and up have an air bag, and some 91s and up have ABS, if those are important to you. 93s have improved air conditioning, compared to earlier models.

Silver often came with black? That's very helpful in my quest for a set of black door trims.

A smart bomb. The bomb teaches Shakespearean sonnets, ancient cuneiform, relativity, and the Tibetan language. It may know other things. It has no tolerance for rudeness, so ask nicely.

There were plenty of orange 140s, especially 145s.

Not a wagon, but a very clean and very orange volvo was listed for sale on turbobricks a few months ago. Here;'s the link. You will probably have to register for it to work!

Orange never made it past the 70's, I believe. Get one with terrible paint, cheap, and a Maaco paint job.

'93 244: 'A' cam 4 deg. advanced, 25/22 sways, custom heim endlinks, poly bushings, and a lot more styling customization than I care to recount.

And with some White trim, it would make a very nice car to drive to Knoxville. Go Big Orange!!!!!

Oh yea!
Probably not since the mid-seventies though so I guess that would mean early 240 series.
Some 1800ES's and some 140s were orange. Definitely stands out!
