Faulty switch/how to remove wood trim? S90-V90

Last night, the switch for the headlights went all crazy on my wife's V90. Off is on and on is only when you're pressing the knob in with your finder. How do I get the trim piece off to remove the switch panel? Or is there something else I should check first?

I have done that a couple of time removing the headlight switch cluster (with door lock, fog light switches, & fake-wood panel).

It can be pried out, but you need to do it from the left side, near the door. There is a catch (stub) on the right side beneath the other cluster (power window, etc.)

thanks. I just ordered the a new switch. Does the trim come off separately? Or is the cluster attached to the back of it? Also, do i need to remove all the switches together?

On that side, I think the order goes (left to right) driving lights, dash dimmer, rear rain/fog light, front fog light.

In both cases that I have done it - one from a junkyard 96 960 and the other from my own 96 960, the trim (fake wood) were attached to the cluster itself. Yes, it has (left to right) head light, dimmer, fog light, etc. All came off as one. I just inserted a thin flat head screw driver in between the dash and the left most (vertical) edge of the cluster and pried. They came off easily both times.

Headlight and dimmer switches were snapped to the cluster from the back with catches. I believe the other switches can be pried off from the front without removing the cluster.

When I bought my 960, the headlight and dimmer switches worked fine but were not seated properly. I rationed that the catches were broken so I got this cluster from the junkyard for replacement. After removing my own, I found the catches were actually fine so I just re-seated them. Now I have this one extra cluster with all the switches sitting there for backup.
