I am gonna miss this. After 30 years as a self employed Volvo mechanic, I am moving on to bigger and better things. I have collected and lost many cool cars, I have built a lot of cool cars, and I have met some of the coolest people in the Volvo cult.
I am closing my shop and in doing so, I am getting customers' cars up to speed before I go. I have built 3 or 4 B20s, changed a cross member in an 1800E, added a few igintion systems, and done a few O.D conversions. That was this week.
I am going to miss this. I still have a large collection of 122s, and am offering them to the rightful home. I am prepping my 68 220 for another trip to The Big Dog Garage where I will be working from now on. I think it's safe to say that I have "one of each" when it comes to Volvos. It may also be safe to say that I have "three of those, two of those" whatever.
My oldest car is a '57 444 and my newest, a '97 850R. I have tons of spares for all. Many know that I have the CheVolvo, an '82 245 that looks like new and has had a 154mph run at El Mirage Dry Lake. I have a 302 powered 122 as well. (not really a good idea) I could beat it with a few twisties in my B18 powered 220 provides there is little straits.
I will keep you posted as things unfold...If you see me out there, it's just me if the Volvo was really flying. ---volvogeorge
