Stalling when 1st started 200 1992

My 240 stalls when it is first started unless I keep my foot on the gas. Once the vehicle warms up a bit it is fine.

Any ideas?

Hi!....sounds sort of similar to something that just happened to me last week...stalled or wanted to stall on start up or shortly thereafter.....did your check engine light come on?????....mine did, gave the code for missing AMM signal.....reseated the connector, so far all is good.......j.

Well, you're screwed.........just kidding........at this point it could be several things.......how's your air filter......i'd be looking at connectors involved with the FI system....or the FI ground...check for clean , tight connectors.......also throttle body and TPS come into play here.....probably the best thing to do now is go to the 700/900 FAQ and look under Engine Tune and Performance Symptoms......it's the same engine and FI system...and the troubleshooting advice is logical.....hope this helps.......j.

Could it be the AMM?

I had the same problem when my AMM started to go.

-Have you checked your airbox thermostat to make sure it is functioning properly?
Search for Air Mass Meter and you will learn all about it.

-Check and see if your AMM is throwing a code. It can trigger a code and not
activate the check engine light.

I put up with the poor running for a week before the AMM gave up the ghost and I barely limped home.

-Sean
