Trunk will not open! Pls. help!!! 900 1994

Hello to All,

Suddenly my 1994 940T Sedan's trunk won't open. If I insert the key to the hole and turn either ways it will not even turn, supossedly to triger the auto lock/unlock mechanism. I did peak inside through the ski hole in the back seat but don't see anything stucked. The key can lock/unlock all doors but not the trunk. I tried my ways but nothing works. so, I'm back again from everybody's mercy that have knowledge and ideas to tackle this problem.

I do let my high school son drive it everyday and now is worried that he might not be able to remove his backpack full of school stuff to do his homework, tenor saxophone for school band, uniforms, shoes, football stuffs, etc. Pls. advice. Thanks! again.

If the key will not turn in the lock, it may be the valet key. Try it in the glove box. If it doesn't work there, go to a dealer and have them cut you a master key. The trunk lock is designed to work with the power locks, but can be ocerridden with the master key. It's possible the electric function failed in the locked position, and might be unlocked with the right key.

As you move the key to the unlock position, try pushing down and pulling up on the trunk lid and see if that will free up the locking mechanism.
If that works, fix it before you close it again. If not, talk to a dealer.
