Torque specs for anti-sway bar link to control arm? 200 1990

1990 244DL

I've looked in Haynes, Bentley, and on the board, and I can't find the torque spec for this. Please, if you have a page number or can otherwise tell me, I (and the dog I have to let out very soon) would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

I think you're mistaken on that 62 ft-lb (more like 37) 200 1990

"Front stabilizer to trailing arm front 62 ft-lb"

Sorry Mr.S, but I don't see it like that on 36-1.

What I do see is Stabilizer to trailing arm front 62 ft-lb in the right-hand column. The word "front" refers to the front-most of two bolts for the REAR anti-sway bar attachment to the "trailing arm", which is a rear suspension component.

And that's also the lower bolt for the rear shock—12mm vs the 8mm one in question.

I hate to say it, but Bentley seens to have missed this one.

I hate even more to say that Haynes (page 0-9) lists 28 to 40 ft-lbs for M-8 bolts.
(I was going to guess 37..., honest!)

Torque specs for anti-sway bar link to control arm? 200 1990

If you're using poly bushings and a thicker than stock bar, I would be very careful of over-tightening! I broke mine last week. Replaced with a stouter looking aftermarket piece from a local supplier, but I'm also doing a little backyard engineering for a stronger, tighter endlink. Expect a thorough write-up with part numbers and cost when I'm done!

To be more clear... 200 1990

...are you looking for a torque value for the endlink connection to the control arm or for the swaybar connection to the endlink?

Not a problem - the vocabulary can sometimes be my challenge. n.m.i. 200 1990

Replaced front bushings with poly, and rear with Boge, with IPD bar already installed. n.m.i. 200 1990
