PS 200

i just thought of 1 more possibility.

scratches or grooves were introduced into the head surface or block surface by crude removal of the gasket and gasket residue using too hard a scraper of too much pressure.
aluminum is soft and can be damaged using hard steel scrapers or blades to get off gasket stuff.

a groove or gouge could easily cause this trouble.
