more questions 120-130

OK, so i recently took my new to me 67 122 to a mechanic and had ALL of the brakes re done (as they were all just about shot, only one brake was working), and after chasing parts from various places online for 3.5 weeks... i have it back! needless to say i'm pretty excited.

but! as with any 'project' there is more to be accomplished; my fuel sending unit is shot, and i have no speedo.... i found the sender no problem, but the only speedo cables i see are for overdrive models. 2 questions; 1.) does anyone know if there is a difference between the two? could i use the overdrive speedo cable on my non-overdrive car? and 2.) if i indeed can't use it... does anyone have one they'd be willing to part with? ;)

Thanks for the help, Gunch.

The overdrive cable should also work with your M40.

You may want to keep this in mind if you may upgrade to an overdrive transmission later. In other words, the cable for the M40 is too short for a M41 gearbox.

Similarly, Check Swedish Treasures 120-130

not to deny anyone a sale, but do check out www.swedishtreasures.com. They have just about everything you could find for a 122/1800/544/140.

Still, It's worth shopping around, as neither ST nor IPD have the best price for all things. Rubber/Poly Bushings are generally cheaper at IPD, or Skandix, but some things are significantly cheaper at ST. Also look at VLVWorld.com for some things. I personally like buying stuff from the Swedish Parts Network (www.swedishparts.net) as they have some of the best prices I've seen for quality european parts, but also a limited selection - but free shipping if you spend $50.00.

I have at least one spare short speedo cable here, but I think you can get a new one for $30-35.00. It's worth getting a new one if possible.
