B18-B20 Valve Train/Timing Interchange 120-130

I am currently rebuilding my B20 6-bolt fly wheel engine. I also have a B18 engine in the shed with a gouged cylinder.

What components of the valve train and timing system are interchangable between these two engines? I have found that the crankshaft hub on my B20 is very pitted and worn in a couple different areas as if it has already been flipped around to provide a better surface to ride against the front seal. I haven't looked at the hub on my B18 but I was wondering if they are interchangable. Are the rocker arm assemblies interchangable?

Thanks in advance,

Mario M.

Hi Mario,

The valve train is interchangable as are the timing gears and the crank hub as well. Take the best parts off the B18 to get the 2L working. Watch for wear on the rockers, they tend to develop a grove where they contact the valve stem.
