Brake Stuck, or hung wheel 200

I purchased an 81 242DL and I am beginning to start restoring it, however as I was towing it home, I had a blowout in the rear wheel on the driver side, I put on the parking brake as I went to change it, and now it seems that the parking brake will not come off, three of the wheels will spin but the rear wheel on the drivers side will not, I need to once again tow this vehicle to where it will be restored, however I will need to get this wheel unlocked, any suggestions

tow it on the front wheels.

I had this on an 81, you need to replace the e-brake assembly; the parts are not expensive, but you have to get the brake caliper off to get the wheel off to be able to service the e-brake.

What I would do - Assume that the e-brake linkages have gotten rusty and the springs won't pull the shoes out of contact.

Raise the car and remove the wheel. Be sure the E-brake is fully OFF. See if the cable going into the wheel housing is not tensed up.

Use a 16 oz hammer to whack the E-brake drum while attempting to turn the axle. Without the wheel there, you will want to put a tire iron or other long bar between the wheel studs for leverage.

Good Luck,

Bob
