Would an ' 85 and later AMM ( 007 ) work on an ' 84 240 ( 002 )? I bought a used AMM that was supposed to be for my car, but it is for the later 240's.

Hi Dan,

I think you're right. I didn't try the 007 AMM, but I did take the 002 AMM off of my ' 84 760 Turbo to try on the 240. I was amazed at how much better the car ran. Power was much better and I didn't get the knocking when I pushed the accelerator down hard. Would you recommend buying a replacement AMM from FCP Groton or trying to find a used one?

The 002 is hard to find, if you can't get one at the bone yard or on ebay buy a new Bosch AMM. Most will recommend against the rebuilt AMM. Also remove or replace the airbox thermostat and plug up theinlet for it in the airbox (if you have one). eeuroparts.com may be a good source also with free shipping. Dan
