If I lived out there I'd be paying too much for housing and couldn't afford them anyhow. And I wouldn't have room in my 1500 sq ft yard to park them all even if I could afford them.

That's easy. City driving. Lots of shifting, not many miles.
Or someone learned how to drive in it...

Which wouldn't be negative for me if I were in the market at that price range. Low miles and well cared for count for something.

I've been spoiled by seeing all those < $1500 really clean Turbo 240 coupes from SoCal Craigslists.

Not fair. You can't find anything over 20 years old that isn't eat up with rust in Virginia. And for some reason, there ARE no Turbos here. I've only ever seen one Turbo 240. Probably the age thing - the newest Turbo is almost 20 and rust has probably gotten them.

Anyway, that's pretty high for an 83 240, but it looks like someone has taken great pains to semi-restore that car, and 90k miles is LOW for 240's, as we all know. If I had the money, I'd think about buying that one. That's not true, I'd spend it on the Turbo 760 for sale for $500 and steal the turbo stuff then part out the rest, but you know what I mean.

I know of a few 242's that are reasonbly priced for sale in SoCal as well. I wish it was a part of Canada, then I wouldn't have to go thru the hassles of bring a car back into the country here - the duties/taxes would be a real PITA

Not true; Duty is non-existent on cars older than 20 years, and the only tax you will pay on entry to Canada is GST. You will pay PST when you register it in Canada. Buying an older car in the US and bringing it to Canada is really easy.
