Adding the little round voltmeter to my 245 instrument panel. HOW? 200 1983

Hi guys,

I wanted to ask you how to hook up a volt meter (little round one same size as the clock) actually under the clock on my '83 245 project. I think it would be nice to have the volt meter in there. I still need a little black plastic bezel surround for it. I got the meter from the junker turbo and it fits perfectly. It has plus and minus male wiring spots. How do I wire it up and to where? ANY help would be nice. -- John

Find asuitable ground location. Near the Fuse Box preferablly. I used a screw that is viewable under the dash near the fuse block. Use fuse # 13(The one with turn signals on it) for the Positive 12v feed. If you remove the panel that covers the fuse block . You will notice that each fuse location has 3 male connections for Each fuse. Fuse 13 has two connections already connected. Use apprx 6 feet of wiring crimp a female spade connector on adn plug into the open male spade connection. Installation takes apprx 1 hour workly slowly drinking a beer. Including clean up . And REMEMBER teh BATTERY FIRST. also Test the light in teh voltmeter First I permanenlty wired the 12v for the light into the volt meter, I always have lights on so no point wiring light to teh Runninglamps. But the light in the voltmeter will always be on. versus via runnign lamps it would only be on when lights are on...
