torque setting for oil drain plug bolt? 200

Hi all,
Is there a torque setting for the drain plug on the B230F? I have to get it pretty tight with a regular rachet for it not to leak.

torque setting for oil drain plug bolt? 200

I tighten mine as hard as I can with a standard 1" wrench using the 12-point closed end. I'm about 155 lbs, so on my back under the car, that's not a lot of torque. I've NEVER replaced that copper ring and the drain plug stays completely dry, now for 70K of ownership on the 91.

But I'm putting the smaller diameter oil temperature sender drainplug in at the next change, so we'll see about that...

Oh, and looks like Bentley says 44 lb.-ft.

I have to really tighten down on mine also for it to not leak.
I saw here once someone say that the copper ring should be replaced every oil change but that seems hard to believe.
I replaced my ring with a new dealer ring and it still leaked until I tightened the cra$ out of it.

Why is it hard to believe... or hard to do? 200

It's a seal that compresses when the bolt (drain plug) is torqued down. Why is it hard to believe that after it gets thin (after first use), it may not seal as well the next time.

I use a new gasket every single time I change my filter -- and have done that since my first new Volvo, in 1973. In fact, the dealer scotch-tapes a new seal to the top of every filter he sells (opens all the boxes and adds the seal), closes the boxes and then stacks them to be taken as they are bought! He wouldn't think of selling the filter without a new seal! And it makes a lot of sense.
