B280F Water pump access 700

Hi all,

I have a strange coolant leak.

I found coolant all over the battery, and near the resevoir. I can't see where it leaked out from, and it appears the fan was blowing it around a bit.

I've since put in stop leak, and yeah, it stopped it (for now)

Can the water pump come out without removing the plenum? I know that tbe B28F requires removal of the plenum to get at the rear hoses. I can see the hoses back there, but... I've never tried this before on my car.

I believe the rad is original (now 19 years old, still looks ok externally, bottom rows of fins are soft but intact, could be quite plugged inside?!?). All the hoses are original!!!! (and still look ok).

If I do remove the pump, I would hope to change all the hoses as well.

So, in a short answer, does the plenum need to come off? (and is it easy?, is it on O-rings or gaskets?)

Any info appreciated (Haynes manual is vague at best, and more specific on the B28F)

    ok,

did a search and it looks like it can be removed without taking off the plenum.

    Thanks!

Myron, FWIW the big issue is getting the two hoses in the engine valley in place, the hoses to the heads can be pried into place if they are new. When I pulled my intake plenum to do the valve adjust and a couple other things, I found it was easy, but...found the intake o-rings were cracked and broken.
