CAM TIMING AGAIN PLEASE 200

Ok all, thanks for the advice. I still really need a LIVE picture of the front of a B230 engine showing the timing belt with the timing marks visible. Again I have all the drawings of this but really need a PHOTOGRAPH not the drawings out of Chiltons or Mitchells or even the nice one out of Bentley's book. Art, if you are still reading these posts, have you ever taken a shot of the timing area? Thanks in advance.....Max :>)
P.S. I know the marks on the cam and intermediate shafts but the mark on the Crankshaft is throwing me off. Where exactly is the mark on the block, I assume it is the casting line that runs from top to bottom on the lower end of the block as shown in many drawings. I really need a shot of this more than the whole timing setup. Thanks.

OK sorry, the dumb f***ing BB safety softwear has decided that two email requests from me and it should block out the request. Write if you want the pics.

Look at the highlighted white mark on the rib on the seal carrier of the B21FT that I sent you two pics of. Align the notch on the correctly seated belt guide with that mark and you have TDC.

See my other reply-
you need to align it using the lower timing cover, with its vertical 0 mark and the tick mark on the outside of the harmonic balancer.

Unfortunately a lot of the books show older models than the B230...

There is a Bentley photo of a B21/23 that will show you the relative position of the 0° crank reference. It's on 216-9, where both figures show the "nub" on the seal carrier, inline with the keyway in Fig 15.

There must be a reference in that same orientation on the B230's rear timing belt cover, as others have posted. I've done a few B230s but can't recall that detail.

My mistake, it is the seal carrier rib that I use and refer to, not a rear plate. I actually went out and looked (instead of assuming) into the spare B230F and the spare B21FT. Same vertical rib, it kind of forms an L but it is the vertical that aligns with the notch in the belt guide plate.
