Hopefully not a rant really.
Oxygen sensors:
The regulars here have seen this info, and the FAQ now breaks out the difference in titania sensors for Regina, but new brick owners come along all the time and the if you go to some otherwise well respected parts sites like FCPGroton and IPD, you will be sold a generic zirconia sensor which will not work correctly on their Regina 740 or 940, though these sites do sell the correct direct fit starting upwards of $130.
Thanks to Lucid, I recently bought the right, direct fit, sensor for $99 plus shipping from sparklplugs.com (NGK's site). See the thread where Lucid points this out at
O2 thread
Or go directly to NGKs site
sparkplugs.com
and enter your car's info to move on to the right sensor (but be warned, they seem to think all our cars have 16 valves)
Also on the NTK site, I found the best tech writeup (in English, at least) on the titania sensors I have seen so far
titania text and charts!
Since it's my birthday, I thought I would vent on my pet peeve. (I put "please stop selling the generic Walker O2 sensor for Regina" in the comments box every time I order from FCP.) Thanks for reading.
btw, Regina owners: Don't pay $120 for the fuel pressure regulator specified for Regina, buy the $40 one for Bosch LH 2.4. Works great for me.
