I bought my 760 this morning and my buddy crunched it this afternoon...Help!! 700 1990

I am looking for som prices on parts to help me decide if this car is worth fixing of selling as is for parts.

I was in the car just ready to put in gear when he decided to back up without looking. OOPS!! The spare tire on his Jeep took out the grille, pannel behind the grille, both mounting tabs and rolled the hood to top it off. Then while taking a close look tonight I found that the mount on the rear of the auto trans is broken. I don't mean the rubber I mean the aluminum boss that the mount mounts to.

I just need some help. Is there anyone near the Chicago area who is parting out a '90 or-so 760? I am looking for all plastic bits and a grille and a white hood. Also any info in the trans mount would be appreciated.
Please email me if you can help,'
Thanks, JEFF

Hi:

Before making any decision. I would check out the front of your engine thoughly for damage. That was alot of force on your power train to break that mount.

Good luck

I have an 86 760 white hood in rust free shape for sale....but I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada....shipping might be a bit pricey.

Email me if you think you'd want to buy it.I know that a new Volvo hood is around $2200 CAN dollars, at least thats what my government Insurance Agency quoted me...thats with no markup.

I do not think that the 86 760 hood will fit - The 1990 has a different clip (for the 740's) and there was a change in the front end of the 760's beginning in 1988 if I am not mistaken.

(760 transmission parts) I bought my 760 this morning and my buddy crunched it this afternoon...Help!! 700 1990

Is your 760 a V-6 or a Turbo4 (B280F or B230FT)? It makes a difference since the transmission mounts are radically different. If you have the V-6, there is an '87 760 in a salvage yard not to far from me that will have the transmission mount you are looking for, and I may have a rear tranny aluminum mount for a 740/760 4-cylider in my garage. Otherwise, the other body components are going to be specific to the '88-'90 760 seires body styling and I don't know of any in my local salvage yards right now that will match those years.

Feel free to contact me. My email can be accessed by clicking on my name or the mailbox next to it. (I don't publicly post it in a thread so as to keep the spam count down.)

Sadly, you're not the first to be crunched by a Jeep Wrangler's spare tire. My mother's mini-van and a friends pickup truck have previously fallen victim to Chrysler's disregard for bumper design with respect to their spare tire placement.

God bless,
Fitz Fitzgerald.
