I thought that i read somewhere that you can get the dash to flash a series of codes by doing something, which i don't remember.. turning the key in the ignition a # of times?...

or do i have to get my car to an auto parts store to have it read for free?

Car is in "limp home" mode, so i'm hoping that there is a trick to it that i can do here.
