To the best of my knowledge the LH2.4 diagnostic test mode procedures also work on LH3.1 systems. Definitely give it a try, you'll soon know if it works from other component activations. I've never seen a manual that mentions the LH3.1 OBD system. If there is a difference it might be the throttle body TPS check as the TPS is a variable resistance potentiometer, not a simple open/closed switch, but I rather suspect it's the same.
[I see from the time stamp on your reply that the brickboard 1969 time warp bug is back. I'm not sure if Jarrod's figured out what causes that.]
