The simplest most accurate diagram I would use is from the Volvotips site for the full Electrical 1980 (245DL)

Page 30 of 145 headlights.

Find your Source,Your ground, your trigger/light switch, and the correct wires for high and low beam. THERE IS A PDF FILE out there that is crisp and clean. Volvo Forum?
