Oh the Extortion!!!
What an egregious overstep of boundaries, that we should be expected to chip in to the state for the maintenance and modernization of of the infrastructure we use while operating our vehicles, especially antiques!
My state has a similar arrangement for antique rules and the car tax. Anything over 20 years old is eligible for the car tax dodge. Still have to register and plates cost an extra $47 (one time fee) but antiques are hard to value so they pay a tax based on not more than $500. P2 Volvos and rusted out Hondas with plates that say "Classic Vehicle". Pretty silly looking.
I do despise the car tax. We already pay sales tax on them over and over each time they're bought/sold. Plus they're tools, not investments. If the revenue is needed then perhaps roll that into the gas tax (Fine until we're all driving electric cars).
