Why has it escaped everyone's attention that the Parkland shooter is the poster boy for the NRA's law-abiding citizen? One who should be able to walk into a gun shop, plunk down a couple of hundred bucks, and walk out with essentially the same weapon I schlepped through the Iron Triangle in 1967?

Right up until the moment he pulled the trigger, that kid had not committed a crime. A law-abiding citizen.

In fact, most of the mass shootings are being committed by law-abiding citizens who used the cover of the NRA inspired and funded assault on the second amendment to accumulate weapons of mass murder. The nut with guns who shot up Las Vegas bought 33 guns in twelve months because he could, as a law-abiding citizen. Same goes for the shooters in Orlando, Aurora and Tucson. In fact, all of the guns used in all of the gun crimes in the country started out as legally purchased by law-abiding citizens.

If we can't trust the law-abiding citizens with guns, we need to take the guns out of the equation.
