For those of you that are 'real' car fans, this quick video shows a lot about a company's cost savings:

You're confusing me Klaus, are you saying rebadged VW's are POS or ?

Is buying a Skoda or a Seat a cheaper or dearer way to buy VW?

Back in the 1980's GM put Chevy badged engines into Buicks. GM got a lot of negative feedback.

As for SKODA and SEAT, they are VW owned. Still, they should have removed the
VW emblem as a matter of course.

Yes, a SKODA is a cheaper version of the VW. And all of the VW 4 cyl engines are made in the CZ republic.

Chevy LUV - Japanese since 1972

The Chevy LUV is an Isuzu. According to Wiki, available since 1972 in the USA.

The Wiki page makes no mention of the fact we had them in Australia too. In Ute Land, Toyota has always been number one, although I would dearly love a L20B powered Nissan ute from the 1970's.

Back in the 80's here in .au, Ford but there badges on Mazda 323, 626 & Mazda's 4 banger ute. GM-Holden put there badge on an Isuzu ute. Ragazines bemoaned the arrival of Badge engineering, but these examples are better cars than Ford or Holden could build.
