The BMW M8 is an impressive machine, 17:29 of Le Mans to go and it's right there! If Toyota don't win this one there will be heads AND balls rolling around.

The M8 died. Beat out by a Ford!

Toyota finished 1&2 with their hibred cars.

Whatever happened to the Audi R10 diesel AWD cars? The rules must have changed...

The CEO of Audi just got arrested, so that tells you what happened to them. Merc just got caught, so they have 750,000 diesel cars to be recalled....

I think there won't be any hybrid LMP1 cars next year, insanely fast and fuel efficent, but mega expensive. I'm still dying to see pics of Porsche's 500+hp V4 2L in the 919, still puzzled why they didn't stay with the classic flat-6.

What would a car race be like if all of the engines were just constant velocity generators supplying 4 electric motors? Kind of like the Indy turbine cars of old? Super quiet and fuel efficient but still very fast.

Nothing can equal a Ferrari's sound at speed, when you can't see it yet but you know it is coming around the bend. Like the sound of the banshee, MB 501K(?) of old, breaking the night's silence.

A V4 Porsche? Why? It's not like they sell to the masses. The sound of the rear engine while going through twisties is what sells the car. That's why the 928 didn't sell. The 911 and 928 were equally fast, but when running flat out, the 911 brought out the smiles.

When the air cooled H6 was replaced with the water cooled H6, that was a good thing. A more reliable engine, better heat dispersion, and still a low center of gravity. A V4? What is Porsche going to do? Put on a square engine hood?

For me, a 911 has more class than a Ferrari but that's just me. And the German car's more likely to keep going.....

I agree, a Ferrari is a look at what I got and it sounds real good. A Porsche is a car you want to race from coast to coast and back again. Then do it again, just for fun.

The 24Hr race has been dominated by Porsche for how many decades in the SC class? The Corvette is fast down the straight, but has to slow down for the twisties with all of the weight in the front.

The BMW M8 is just too complex, engine wise.
