This is my Volvo 240 GLE Auto, and I just love it, had it for 9 years now, originally brought it to keep the miles down on my R33 Nissan Skyline! The Skyline's long gone but the Volvo will be with me forever I think, it's my third 244 / 240. Just had the 5 Virgo alloys refurbished (re powder coated) & waiting for a new set of tyres, going with 205 / 70 / 15's, why 70 series? well I want to fill the wheel arches a little more, also gives a little better gas miles 8.61%, also the same on speed etc. Would go to 215 /60/ 15 but slightly concerned about towing a trailer & scrubing out the rears on the inside of the wheel arches, unless anyone knows better? The car was a one owner with 30124 miles when purchased back in 99 and totally mint, & a special order at that, with a carb & distributor (what a shame) but there you go can't have everything. it is totally standard, I would like to change it too gain more power in the future, but not change the looks, just too classic to screw around with. Anyone with ideas on what can be done here in the UK to acheive Turbo type power output at a sensible cost or just give it a serious boost please email me, regards |
