Having to replace my original wiper motor since the big magnet inside came loose, I got a rebuilt one from a friend. Even with a new grommet in place, I wanted to do a good job of sealing the new motor at the hole in the firewall. The old motor had a bunch of what looked to be white caulk squirted into it at that location. I wanted something cleaner, better, and more secure. I decided on using plumber's putty which is remarkable stuff. After mounting the motor, the putty filled the area quite well, I think. |
