a/c problem after rain 850

I'm assuming you hit standing water, and made a bow wake, like a boat, which then washed over the hood.

If water got into the fresh air intake, you could have water in the ductwork leading to the blower, as well as in the blower itself. If you have a cabin air, or "pollen" filter, it should be replaced... the water will have dissolved all sorts of "stuff", and clogged the pores of the paper element.

The cheapest and easiest thing is to let the blower run on high speed with the A/C off (assuming that it isn't making a horrible noise at that point).... this could take HOURS to cause the water to evaporate. Any water that got into the evaporator itself should drain out through the condensate drain hose. I hope you get lucky.
