My ECC unit Recirc and a/c on switch light blink for 20 seconds when first starting the car, indicating there is a fault in the system. I pulled out my Haynes manual and found the procedures to pull the fault codes on my 95 Turbo Wagon. Got 2 codes, 4-1-4 and 4-1-7 which says that the driver and passenger side temp sensor inlet fans have seized.
A few weeks ago after reading several posts, I decided to clean out these sensors as I was having a problem with the a/c going hot-cold-hot-cold. The system is now only blowing hot so I am trying to figure out what is going on. I had noticed when I first cleaned these units that the little sensors were not perfectly centered as they were prior to my cleaning them, and the drivers side had a high pitched squeal, so I re-centered the sensor which stopped the squeal. I think I need to re-check the passenger side now also. My question is, if these inlet fans did seize, are they available and for about how much? I did not see them on the fcpgroton site. Also, if these fans are not working, would that not allow the a/c to work? I'm thinking I may have the infamous compressor clutch issue, but looking at the diagram of this a/c system, there are way too many electrical switches that may be causing problems. There's the 2 interior sensors, a solar sensor on the dash, duct air temp sensors, blower motor resistor box, and multiple damper motors. This makes for a nightmare in diagnosing a/c woes.
